Students from Cuba Middle School and Lybrook School were visited by a mobile planetarium. A planetarium is a building in which images of stars, planets, and constellations are projected onto a dome ceiling. The mobile planetarium was inflated in each of the school’s gyms. Students crawled through the entrance and sat in a circle within the dark dome. The presentation included projections of the night sky demonstrating how the stars change throughout seasons. The students also heard stories about the scientists who study constellations and planets. We loved seeing the students’ attention completely captured and hearing all of their curious questions.
The Science Around Us Team thanks the administrators and teachers at Cuba Middle School and Lybrook School as well as Mobile Ed Productions.
